Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server

Glubler Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server enables Large Language Models (OpenAI ChatGPT, Anthropic Claude, Claude Desktop, Chatbox, Cursor, and custom AI agents) to interact directly with Glubler collections, search the registered websites catalog, glue missing websites, and organize content via standard natural language prompts.

2. Official Server Endpoints

The Glubler MCP infrastructure operates with both hosted remote streaming endpoints and standard OAuth 2.1 discovery services:

Service URL / Endpoint Specification
MCP Server (SSE) https://mcp.glubler.com/sse Server-Sent Events (SSE) remote transport
Messages Endpoint https://mcp.glubler.com/messages JSON-RPC 2.0 message handler
Protected Resource Metadata https://glubler.com/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource RFC 9728 discovery
OAuth 2.1 Authorization Server https://glubler.com/.well-known/openid-configuration RFC 8414 discovery
Authorize Endpoint https://glubler.com/connect/authorize OAuth 2.1 Code Flow + PKCE (S256)
Token Endpoint https://glubler.com/connect/token Token exchange & refresh

3. OAuth 2.1 & PKCE Authentication Flow

For cloud AI platforms such as OpenAI and Anthropic, Glubler implements the official OAuth 2.1 specification with mandatory Proof Key for Code Exchange (PKCE S256):

  • PKCE Protection: Protects against authorization code interception attacks without requiring client secrets on public clients.
  • Isolated Grants: Normal user sessions on www.glubler.com remain independent; authorization is granted strictly to the AI client.
  • Scope Control: The default scope mcp:all allows managing collections and bookmarks on behalf of the user.

Personal Access Token (Static Token)

Users can also generate a dedicated 30-day personal MCP token directly inside Glubler Settings without browser popups:

  1. Go to glubler.com/settings.
  2. Select the MCP Server tab from the sidebar.
  3. Click Generate MCP / API Token and copy the token.
  4. Provide it as an HTTP header: Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN.

4. Available MCP Tools

Once connected, the AI model has access to the following 10 structured tools:

Tool Name Description Plan Requirement
search_glubler_catalog Search Glubler's database for existing websites, news sources, games, and tools. Free
list_my_glublers List all collections (glublers) and nested subglublers belonging to the authenticated account. Free
get_glubler_details Retrieve full contents of a collection, including saved websites, notes, and subglublers. Free
get_public_glubler View any public Glubler list using username and slugName (no auth required). Free
create_glubler Create a new collection. When parentGlublerId is specified (subglubler), requires a Pro plan. Pro for Subglublers
rename_glubler Rename a collection or subglubler's title and/or URL slug. Free
delete_glubler Permanently delete a collection and its items. Free
glue_website Save a website to a collection. Missing websites are automatically fetched, scraped, and favicon-checked. Free
glue_websites_batch Save multiple websites in a single prompt. Glubler resolves catalog hits and fetches external sites in batch. Free
unglue_website Remove a website from a collection. Free

5. OpenAI & ChatGPT Configuration

When connecting Glubler to a Custom GPT, Actions, or OpenAI's Remote MCP integration:

  • Server URL: https://mcp.glubler.com/sse
  • Authentication Type: OAuth 2.0 / OAuth 2.1
  • Authorization URL: https://glubler.com/connect/authorize
  • Token URL: https://glubler.com/connect/token
  • Scope: mcp:all offline_access
  • PKCE: Enabled (S256)

6. Claude & Claude Desktop Configuration

Claude Desktop Configuration

Add the remote server directly to your claude_desktop_config.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "glubler": {
      "url": "https://mcp.glubler.com/sse",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_GLUBLER_TOKEN"
      }
    }
  }
}

7. Desktop Clients (Chatbox, OpenCowork, Cursor)

For Chatbox or any desktop AI client supporting Remote MCP over HTTP/SSE:

  1. Open the MCP Settings modal.
  2. Set Type to Remote (http/sse).
  3. Set Protocol to Legacy (Standard SSE transport).
  4. Set URL to https://mcp.glubler.com/sse.
  5. Set HTTP Header to Authorization=Bearer YOUR_GLUBLER_TOKEN.
  6. Click Connect, then Save.

8. Free vs. Pro Plan Enforcement

Glubler provides generous capabilities on the Free plan, while advanced nested hierarchy is reserved for Pro members:

  • Free / Standard Plan: Unlimited top-level Glubler collections, catalog search, gluing websites, batch imports, social sharing, and renaming.
  • Pro Plan ($4.32/mo): Nested Subglublers (up to 7 levels deep). If a Free plan user asks an AI to create a subglubler, the server returns PRO_PLAN_REQUIRED, and the AI guides the user to upgrade at glubler.com/settings.

9. Security & Privacy

  • No credential leakage: MCP tokens are tied strictly to the issuing user account and never expose other users' private glublers.
  • Safe Scraping: All external websites are sanitized and checked against Glubler quality and safety policies before favicons and metadata are stored.
  • Revocable Access: Generating a new token or changing your password invalidates older tokens immediately.
