Creating an Account

Creating a Glubler account takes a minute or two, and everything on the platform is free to use afterwards. There is no trial to start and no card to enter.
You need three things: an email address, a display name, and a username. A password completes it. That is the whole list.
Two Ways to Sign Up
Glubler offers exactly two options, and both lead to the same account.

Both start at the same place: glubler.com/auth. Choose Sign Up, or Continue with Google.

If you would rather not invent a username, there is a Dice button next to the field that generates one for you.
Password rules
Glubler checks the password properly, so it is worth knowing the rules before you are rejected:
- At least 8 characters long
- At least one lowercase letter
- At least one capital letter
- At least one special character, such as
!or?
A long passphrase like correct-horse-Battery-9 satisfies all four and is easier to remember than a short scrambled one.
Signing Up with Google
Click Continue with Google and you will be taken through Google as usual. When you come back you are signed in.
Note: Google sign-in matches accounts by email address. If you already have a Glubler account with the same email, it signs you into that account rather than creating a second one. Useful to know if you have signed up before and are not sure which account you used.
With Google you do not choose a username. One is generated for you, and you can change it later in Settings.
Verifying Your Email
Email sign-ups need one confirmation step. Glubler emails you a link, and clicking it activates the account and signs you in.
Two things worth knowing:
- The link is valid for 24 hours. After that it stops working.
- If you sign up again with the same email while a verification is still pending, Glubler replaces the old one rather than creating a second account.
If the email does not arrive, check your spam or promotions folder first. It is a normal automated message and often gets filtered.
Choosing a Username
Your username is the part of your profile address, so it is the one field worth thinking about. Your profile will live at:
glubler.com/yourusername
- It has to be unique
- It can be up to 30 characters
- You can change it later, but the old link will stop working when you do
Pick something readable rather than something clever. You will be sharing it, and living with it, for as long as the account exists.
What to Do Next
You are signed in, and nothing is waiting for you. The platform is fully usable straight away, but three things make it much more useful, and all of them are quick:
1. Glue your first website
Type any site into the search bar and save it into a new Glubler. This is the main thing you do on Glubler, so it is worth doing before anything else.
2. Follow a few people
This is what turns Glubler from a private notebook into something with a point of view. Follow ten people whose saved sites you would genuinely look at.
3. Add a profile photo
Optional, but it is the single biggest difference between a profile people engage with and one they scroll past.
After that, Settings → Tune Feed lets you decide what your feed is made of, once there is anything in it to see.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I sign up with Facebook or Apple?
Not at the moment. Google is the only external sign-in option, alongside email and password.
Can I sign up with a phone number?
No. Glubler does not use phone numbers at all, and there is no SMS verification. Your email address is what identifies your account.
Is there a free trial?
No. Glubler is free to use and there is nothing to start or cancel. A Pro plan exists for Subglublers, the nested lists, and you can look at whether you need one later.
Do I have to verify my email?
Yes, if you signed up with email. It is one click on a link we send you, and it is valid for 24 hours. Google sign-ups are already verified by Google.
It says the user or username is already taken
That means an account already exists with that email address or that username. Try signing in instead. If it is your old account, Continue with Google will find it automatically if you use the same email.
Can I change my username later?
Yes, from Settings. There is no waiting period, but your old profile link stops working afterwards, so tell anyone who has it.
Do I need to add a profile photo or bio?
No. Glubler works fully without them, and you can stay private. They simply make you easier to recognise.
